UUID / GUID Generator
Generate random, unique Version 4 UUID strings locally.
What is UUID / GUID Generator?
Construct standardized cryptographically secure 128-bit unique identifiers instantly. Generate single or multiple iterations of universally unique identifiers (UUIDs) or globally unique identifiers (GUIDs) for databases, APIs, distributed systems, and software development.
This tool generates unique 128-bit identifiers following the standardized UUID format (RFC 4122), producing values that are practically guaranteed to be unique across space and time without requiring a central registration authority.
It supports multiple UUID versions including Version 4 (random-based, the most common), Version 1 (time-based with MAC address), Version 3 (name-based using MD5), and Version 5 (name-based using SHA-1).
These identifiers are essential for a vast range of professionals and applications, including software developers creating database primary keys, API request IDs, and session tokens, backend engineers building distributed systems that require conflict-free entity identification, database architects designing scalable data models with unique record identifiers, DevOps engineers tagging cloud resources and container instances, QA testers generating test data with unique reference IDs, security professionals creating non-guessable tokens for authentication and authorization, system administrators tracking log entries and audit trails, data scientists ensuring dataset record uniqueness, mobile app developers generating unique device or installation IDs, and anyone who needs to create unique keys for any purpose without risk of collision.
Whether you are building a microservices architecture that requires traceable request IDs, designing a distributed database that needs unique primary keys across shards, generating user invitation tokens, creating unique filenames for uploaded content, implementing a REST API with idempotency keys, generating transaction IDs for financial systems, creating unique order or invoice numbers, or simply need a unique identifier for a personal project, this generator delivers reliable, standardized IDs in milliseconds, preventing key collisions, data corruption, integration failures, and security vulnerabilities across all your development and operational projects.
Enjoy 100% private, client-side executions. Your source files and parameters are processed completely inside your device RAM, never leaving your sandbox browser configuration. No generated identifiers, custom namespaces, or any other data is sent to any external server.
We employ no cloud storage, no cookies, no analytics tracking, and absolutely zero data logging—every UUID you generate exists solely in your current browser tab and is permanently erased the moment you close the page.
This guarantees complete confidentiality for proprietary system designs, sensitive security tokens, confidential database schemas, or personal project details.
You can generate hundreds of UUIDs without any risk of data interception, unauthorized access, or information exposure, because absolutely nothing is transmitted over any network at any stage.
How to Use
- Provide the target values or upload files above. To begin, configure your generation parameters. Specify how many UUIDs you want to generate (single or batch up to thousands) using the quantity field. Select your preferred UUID version—Version 4 (random) is the default and most widely used, Version 1 (time-based) for sortable identifiers, or Versions 3/5 (name-based) for deterministic IDs based on a namespace and name. For Version 3 and 5 generation, provide a namespace (DNS, URL, OID, or X.500) and a name string to generate reproducible identifiers. You can manually enter all parameters or upload CSV, TXT, or JSON files containing custom name lists for batch name-based generation—ideal for generating consistent IDs for user databases, product catalogs, or document management systems. The intelligent parser automatically detects your input format, validates each entry, and provides clear error feedback for any invalid configurations before processing begins.
- Adjust formatting variables, dimensions, or constants if applicable. Before generating, customize the output to meet your specific development needs. Choose between standard hyphenated UUID format (8-4-4-4-12), unhyphenated (32 hexadecimal characters), or URN format (urn:uuid:xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx). Select your preferred output case—uppercase or lowercase hexadecimal characters. Set the number of identifiers per line or choose a delimited format (comma-separated, space-separated, or newline-separated) for easy integration with your code, scripts, or data import tools. You can also enable additional features, such as automatic timestamp inclusion for Version 1 UUIDs, namespace validation, or the ability to generate a JSON array output for API responses. Save your default preferences (version, format, case, delimiters, etc.) for future sessions.
- Review results or click Copy / Download to export outputs. Generated UUIDs appear in real-time as you configure or upload, with an intuitive display showing each identifier in your chosen format. The output displays the UUID along with its version and variant information, and for Version 1, the embedded timestamp and node information when enabled. Use the one-click Copy button to grab individual UUIDs or the entire result set to your clipboard for quick insertion into code, databases, API requests, configuration files, documentation, emails, or other development tools. Hit Download to export your complete UUID set as CSV, JSON, plain text, or as a SQL INSERT statement template. This is ideal for archiving, sharing with development teams, generating test data, documenting system identifiers, or integrating into larger deployment workflows. Downloaded files include timestamp metadata, generation parameters (version, count, format), all generated UUIDs, and optional custom labels for full traceability and professional documentation.
This generator runs entirely offline after the initial page load, requires zero internet connectivity for any operation, and is fully responsive across desktops, laptops, tablets, and smartphones—equally useful in software development environments, database design sessions, cloud infrastructure planning, security audits, remote development, or on-the-go coding.
With its powerful combination of multiple UUID versions, cryptographic security, flexible formatting options, uncompromising privacy, robust batch-generation capabilities, and intuitive interface, the UUID / GUID Generator is the definitive tool for anyone working with software systems, distributed architectures, databases, APIs, or any application requiring unique identifiers.
